Your own private villa

We invite groups and families to experience a quiet hideout with large spaces to gather and relax. Enjoy privacy, comfort and thoughtful design in our jungle home.
The entire villa, just your group

Renting Bakamuna as a whole means the villa is yours alone. No reception, no other guests, nobody to share the morning coffee with but the people you brought. Four bedrooms sleep eight, and up to twelve if you add the dorm. Big enough that everyone gets their own space, small enough that you are never far from each other. A full kitchen, a spacious garden to relax in, and quiet corners to slip away to when you want a moment to yourself.

A look around

Where you will be staying

FOUR BEDROOMS

Each one with its own character

Four private rooms, each air-conditioned with a comfortable bed. Which one will you pick?

Ira room

Ira means sun in Sinhala, and this room earns the name. Light all day, a private balcony, and the kind of golden mornings that get everyone out of bed.

Jungle room

Our most-loved room. The balcony opens onto flowers and trees, and you’ll often have wildlife passing through. The best views in the house.

Nala room

The cosy one. Quiet, homely, every piece of furniture chosen for the space. Exactly what you need after a long day exploring Hiriketiya.

Bamboo room

Tucked beside the garden with the best view of the outdoor shower. The smallest room, comfortable and clever, with a foldable wall desk you put up only when you need it.
A LARGE FAMILY, BIG GROUP OF FRIENDS OR A RETREAT?

We have room for everyone.

The villa sleeps eight across four bedrooms, and up to twelve with the extra dorm. For a larger group we can open a second villa a short walk away, so up to thirty of you stay close and still share the days together. It makes Bakamuna one of the few places on Sri Lanka’s south coast where a group this size stays very close to each other without giving up comfort or privacy. Tell us how many you are and what you have in mind, and we will put together a stay that fits.

The beach is a fifteen-minute walk and the Hiriketiya restaurants about ten. Dikwella town, with a supermarket, pharmacy and gym, is a five-minute drive.
Yes, and a hot wash to really get the stains out. There’s a small fee to use it.

We work with trusted drivers and comfortable vehicles for any group size. Colombo airport to the villa is around three hours. We’ll arrange enough cars or a van so everyone arrives together.

Yes. A brand new electric scooter you can charge for free at the villa, and a tuktuk for going further. Just bring your international driving licence.
